About the PTO

Welcome to the Hunnewell School Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), established in 1995 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We aim to foster closer cooperation between the school and parents, enrich children's educational experiences, improve communication, and provide essential support for student enrichment programs.

Here's a glimpse of what we do:

• Fund Creative Arts and Sciences workshops, author visits, and educational Field Trips

• Provide Teacher Classroom Supplies

• Host Teacher Appreciation Lunches

• Organize the Hunnewell Ice Cream Social

• Host Kindergarten Parent Coffees

• Arrange New Family Coffee & Donuts Gatherings

Mission Statement

Throughout the year, PTO activities and initiatives are carefully crafted to advance our longstanding mission: 

• Enrich the educational experience of all our children;

• Provide financial and volunteer support for the activities and needs of the school; and

• Enhance communication between home, school, and community groups.

• Provide information regarding School Committee policies and budgets,

• Increase understanding of children and their education, in order to guarantee the best education possible for our children.

Hunnewell Elementary School is fortunate to have parents, teachers, staff and a community that invests in education as a priority and, as a result, students gain more opportunities to learn in different ways and develop their talents. In the 2024-2025 school year, we have fully funded amazing programs such as:

Creative Arts & Sciences programs, Field Trips, Speakers, Classroom Support, Teacher Support, Nurses Office Support, Reading & Math Intervention , Library , Art, Music and much more!

The Hunnewell PTO hopes to continue providing programs like these next year.
