About the PTO
Welcome to the Hunnewell School Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO), established in 1995 as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We aim to foster closer cooperation between the school and parents, enrich children's educational experiences, improve communication, and provide essential support for student enrichment programs.
Here's a glimpse of what we do:
Fund Creative Arts and Sciences workshops, author visits, and educational Field Trips
Provide Teacher Classroom Supplies
Host Teacher Appreciation Lunches
Organize the Hunnewell Ice Cream Social
Host Kindergarten Parent Coffees
Arrange New Family Coffee & Donuts Gatherings
Mission Statement
Throughout the year, PTO activities and initiatives are carefully crafted to advance our longstanding mission:
Enrich the educational experience of all our children;
Provide financial and volunteer support for the activities and needs of the school; and
Enhance communication between home, school, and community groups.
Provide information regarding School Committee policies and budgets,
Increase understanding of children and their education, in order to guarantee the best education possible for our children.
Hunnewell Elementary School is fortunate to have parents, teachers, staff and a community that invests in education as a priority and, as a result, students gain more opportunities to learn in different ways and develop their talents. In the 2024-2025 school year, we have fully funded amazing programs such as:
Creative Arts & Sciences programs, Field Trips, Speakers, Classroom Support, Teacher Support, Nurses Office Support, Reading & Math Intervention , Library , Art, Music and much more!
The Hunnewell PTO hopes to continue providing programs like these next year.
